Entumo is an AI workforce for your company: you hire AI employees, hand them real work, and stay in control of everything that leaves the building. This chapter takes you from a fresh account to your first finished task.
After you sign up and confirm your email, a short setup creates the workspace:
Once the workspace exists, a first piece of work starts by itself from your company description, so there is a finished document waiting for you. It is billed like any other task.
You land on My work: what your team is doing, the next step in each area of the business, and everything waiting on you. The sidebar is grouped:
Press ⌘K (Ctrl K) to jump to any page, employee, task or file by name — with no match, it offers to ask Enti. ⌘J opens Enti from any page, to ask something or capture an idea.
Not every company needs every area. As owner, click Choose areas under Money & admin, untick what your company doesn't use, then Done. Each tick saves at once and applies to everyone in the workspace.
Hiding only tidies the menu: the page still opens through ⌘K and links, and its notifications and its line in Today keep working. My work, Enti, Responsibilities, Chats, Tools and Setup can't be hidden, and the last business area always stays.
Members never see a row they can't open in the first place — see Who sees what.
Until setup is done, an owner's My work starts with Get started: the few steps that connect your team to your real data, each with its own button.
A step counts only once it is really done; Skip just moves it aside. On other pages the next step waits, folded, in Finish setup at the foot of the sidebar. Hide removes the list in this browser.
On a phone the sidebar folds into the menu button at the top left; search, the bell and the workspace switcher stay in the top bar.
My work starts with Capture, three tiles for what you do on the go: Receipt (snap it and it becomes an expense), Letter (snap incoming post — Entumo says what it is and by when to act) and Job report (hours and material for finished work). A tile is left out when its area is hidden or not open to you. The round buttons at the bottom right are Help and Enti.
Every workspace starts with a small starter team. Each member is a specialised AI employee with a role, instructions and a model — rename, edit or replace any of them, or hire more whenever you like. The roster is Team, at the foot of the sidebar (see Hiring & tuning your team).
You rarely need to pick someone yourself: describe the work, and Enti — or the task composer — routes it to the right employee from the words of your brief.
The fastest way in is Give Enti a task on My work, or Enti in the sidebar: describe what you need in plain language, and it proposes who should do it — you start the work with a click.
Prefer to brief one employee directly? Give a task on its card in Team (or in its chat) opens the task composer: write a short brief, attach images or PDFs if useful, and start. The work runs on our servers — you can close the tab and come back to the result. Ready-made example briefs live on the Examples page, linked from this Guide.
A handful of words carry the whole model:
Teams and projects are complementary, not rivals: the team is who works together, the project is what they're working toward. A one-time initiative («create a marketing plan») fits a project with a workflow attached and run once; a standing rhythm («weekly newsletter») is a plain workflow — attach it to a project only when its output belongs to that initiative.
The entire product works in English, German, French and Italian — switch with the language control at the foot of the sidebar (in the menu on a phone). Your employees write deliverables in whatever language you ask for.
The bell at the top of the sidebar (in the top bar on a phone) collects everything that needs your attention: approvals, finished runs, failures, the Monday brief. The round help button answers questions about Entumo anywhere in the app.
